The Immigrant Behind Unfiltered Canada
No PR firm. No sponsorships. Just an immigrant who decided to write the guide he wished he'd had when moving to Canada.
Anuj Vaghela
Moved to Ontario, Canada in 2017 on a student visa. Navigated college, survival jobs, field work, permanent residency, and everything in between. I am still here, still figuring it out.
Why I started this
Behind the projectEvery immigration blog I found was either a consultant's sales pitch, a thread full of outdated advice, or a confusing government PDF.
So I started writing. Not to be an authority, but to share the kind of perspective you'd get from a friend who's already been through it. The friend who tells you to bring more warm clothes, warns you about the survival job trap, and is honest about the moments that made them question everything.
Unfiltered Canada is that friend. Whether you're still outside Canada weighing your options, freshly landed and overwhelmed, or years deep and wondering if you made the right call, this site is written for you.
What you'll find here
The core roadmapDeep dives into the 16 factors that actually determine whether Canada is worth it for you. My observations on education ROI, job market realities, cost of living in Ontario, the permanent residency grind, and the things most people don't talk about publicly, like racism and mental health.
I write one post at a time, as thoroughly as I can, prioritising the topics my readers ask about most. No filler, no affiliate links, no consultant agenda.
